FURNITURE ASSISTANCE


Program Purpose To collect decent and serviceable donated furniture and redistribute it to homeless persons who have obtained and moved in to transitional, permanent or permanent supportive housing

Program Description The YWCA solicits and receives decent and serviceable furniture from the local community. It picks up and stores the furniture for redistribution to eligible applicants on a need basis. In order to assist the greatest number of households, participants are limited to the number of donated items they may receive.

Eligibility & Program Requirements

  • Must be homeless per HUD’s definition
  • Must be in transitional, permanent, or permanent supportive housing for which the participant has a legally protectable right of residence
  • May be required to participate in short term monitoring to ensure participant is
    maintaining residence and complying with lease
